Grindstaff Auction & Realty is a family owned and operated company. As a husband and wife team of auctioneers, Jimmy and Anne Grindstaff are committed to the highest standards of professional and personal skills related to the auction and real estate profession.
We conduct auctions of any size and use our skills and expertise to obtain the best market value for your items. We maintain a very extensive mailing list of aggressive buyers.

Our Staff
Jimmy GrindstaffOwner / Primary Auctioneer
Jimmy is founder and President of Grindstaff Auction and Realty Inc. A second generation of auctioneer, he is dedicated to the auction industry. He is an active member of National Auctioneer Association and Virginia Auctioneers Association.
Jimmy has an impressive auction knowledge of antiques, farm & business equipment, estate liquidations, and real estate. Jimmy has been in the auction industry for over 40years.
Jimmy specializes with On-Site auctions with an emphasis on antiques, liquidations, and real estate.
Anne GrindstaffOwner / Auctioneer / Realtor
Anne Grindstaff is Vice President and director of Grindstaff Auction and Realty Inc. and oversee all day to day operations.
After her studies at VCU, she graduated from Mosley Flint Real Estate School and has been in the real estate business for 20+ years. Anne has attended various sales schools throught the east coast. She is an graduate of Mendenhall School of Auctioneers in High Point NC.
Anne is a member of National Auctioneers Association and Virginia Auctioneers Association.
Stella M. Stanley, GRIReal Estate Broker
Stella started in the real estate industry in 1987. She has worked as an assistant, office manager, agent and has worked herself up to Real Estate Broker. She obtained her Broker’s license in 2004.
Stella obtained her GRI (Graduate, Realtor Institute) designation in 1998. This designation required an intensive training program through the Board of Realtors.
Stella lives in Mechanicsville and is very well acquainted with the Richmond and surrounding areas. She has taken numerous training classes which enable her to provide you the most knowledgeable assistance possible.

What types of items do you accept for consignment sales?
We are pleased to accept a wide variety of items from household goods, to machinery, to fine antiques.
Is there a minimum or maximum number of items I can place on consignment?
There is no minimum or maximum number of items necessary to be placed on consignment. However, if you plan to place a large number of items on consignment we suggest you contact us so we may arrange for proper storage of your items.
What information do I need to bring with me to have a check approved?
Please bring a photo ID with you such as a valid drivers license or passport. This will be used for both check approval and auction registration.
Will I have to pay sales tax on purchases?
The State of Virginia requires us to charge 5 percent sales tax on purchases unless you present a valid tax exemption number.
